Oxford-educated lawyer by training and currently working as a businesswoman, Kiran Chaudhry is also the lead vocalist of Club Caramel (a Lahore based rock band) who sings in both English and Urdu. The latest happening about Kiran is like she has sung a song for Samsung mobile’s Tv commercial.
Apart from traditional pop music, English songs are now making their way to Pakistani society as well. A few years back Shiraz Uppal sung Enrique’s Tonight I’m Loving you, which was highly applauded by the fans. Now Kiran Chaudhry is all set to act as a trend setter and is changing the pop culture in the country by providing a perfect blend of both English and Urdu music.
Kiran received her initial training in Eastern classical music whilst still at school in Lahore by the eminent maestro, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, of the Pattiala Gharana. She started out by participating in various school singing competitions and musical shows while still in Pakistan. After leaving Pakistan in 1994, she honed her musical skills further through vocal training lessons at London’s famous VOXBOX and through a run of live performances on London’s live gig and open mic circuit.
