Ramazan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and it is by far the, utmost, purest month for all the Muslims around the world. It is said that in this holy month, all of the evil forces, including the Satan are chained; and the Almighty Allah showers his auspicious blessings upon the Muslims, who refrain from their daily routines and show patience by maintaining fasts in the holy month of Ramazan.
And every year, during or before the time-period of Ramazan, we see our beloved artists putting up their efforts, spreading out the message of love, peace, and Islam in their mesmerizing Naa’ts, Hamds and Duas, and this year’s been the same as well as some of our artists like Ali Haider, Nouman Javaid, The Sketches, Saleem Javed, Saad and Hadi, and even the cricket fanatic Javed Miandad have contributed to this mere cause.
Lets start it then with:
Ali Haider – Dam Dam Mast Qalander
Although this one was released before Ramadhan and is a more like a Dhamaal/Kalaam, but it needs to be included in the list; Dama Dam Mast Qalander is from Ali Haider’s first Naat album Kee Jana Mein Koun, directed by Babar Khan and sung by Ali himself. The video of this kalaam has been shot in Sehwan Sharif and other parts of Sindh.

Nouman Javaid – A Prayer
A Prayer is written and composed by Nouman Javaid, which comprises jolting words such as: “Our lives are full of guilt and shame; we have sins so much that we forgot who we are; and now there is no escape for us; we have gone so far,” before Nouman pleads Allah to help us and lead us to a bright path. You must watch and listen Nouman Javaid’s A Prayer to know the bare truth.

Sketches – Awal Allah
Awal Allah is taken from the book Shah Jo Risalo of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai. The soft hamd is done by the Sketches duo; Naeem Shah is on the guitar while Saif Samejo is reciting it. It’s another one of those, divine, hamds that takes you completely to another, a refreshing world.

Saleem Javed – Ramazan Mubarak
The Hyderabadi-born Saleem Javed produces an easy-to-the-ears kalaam called Ramazan Mubarak, which contains beautiful wordings in it, and has the direction done by his son Jo-G and Javed himself. This wonderful kalaam is all about praising and welcoming the holy month of Ramazan.

Saad and Hadi – Ya Nabi
The duo of Saad and Hadi who gave us a good national song Pakistan Zindabad for Pakistan’s 2011 Cricket World Cup campaign are back again; this time with a prestigious Naat, Ya Nabi – which, originally, has been performed by Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi. But nevertheless, Saad and Hadi’s rendition is just simple plain awesome as it has great tune and lovely vocals.

Javed Miandad – Rishta Hai Ramazan
Rishta Hai Ramazan is a Naat produced by the Geo TV Networks and it has Javed Miandad portraying it – the man who, once, dominated the field of cricket with his blatant and explosive batting. First and foremost, I must appreciate Miandad’s effort and I also admit that he tried his best. But, I think that there are a lot of other guys who should’ve been given a nod with this particular Naat (Junaid Jamshed, Najam Sheeraz, etc. as they have better vocals than Mr. Miandad). But then again, this stuff is never meant to be criticized, right? So I say it again; a good job by Javed Miandad and team.
