Lathey is almost a 50 year old Punjabi folk song (maybe even more) – the earliest possible version NV could find was that of the legendary singer Surinder Kaur.
This is the first time ever in Pakistan a single person has recorded all instruments live and produced it.
NV convert the genre of this song into rock and wrote some additional lyrics to make it less shadi-like and more pop-rock

Lathey – NV#Lathey is almost a 50 year old Punjabi folk song (maybe even more) – the earliest possible version I could find was that of the legendary singer Surinder Kaur. This is the first time ever in #Pakistan a single person has recorded all instruments live and produced it (albeit some other legendary musicians are fully capable of doing a far better job than I ever can – think of Salman Albert, Farhad Humayun, Usman Shiekh). It sort of fulfills my childhood dream of emulating my music idol #DaveGrohl who recorded all instruments himself on the first #FooFighters album. It started off with a guitar riff I posted earlier and I just thought of doing a demo and scrapping it just to test my drum mics and newly acquired video gear. But I started liking the song too much – hence wrote some additional lyrics to make it less shadi-like and more pop-rock (a genre I absolutely adore!!)If you like it please share it as much as you can!!! smile emoticon#NV #Rock
