Umer Sharif Park inaugurated in Clifton, Karachi

Umer sharif,  a famous Pakistani personality who has left his deep marks in the field of comedy both in Television and stage is now presented a tribute cum gift. The news is like, a park in Karachi has been named after Umer Sharif for his efforts in supporting Pakistani Comedy & theater  industry.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan inaugurated the park on Wednesday, Some other famous political and Television personalities were also present along with the Governor at the time of inauguration.

Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, on the occasion, said that parks had already been named after the late Mehdi Hassan and Moin Akhtar and now it was time to mark yet another great name in entertainment. More parks and corridors of the city would be named after players and artistes.

He also added that a Legend Trust had been established by the Government to provide financial aid to more than 30 deserving artistes as the artists are like the ambassadors of our country and Pakistan was recognized in reference to those artists. The park is near Bilawal House Chowrangi and Ziauddin Hospital, and is constructed on a 2.3 acre piece of land at the cost of Rs26 million, which is pretty handsome amount.

Umer Sharif, while speaking on the occasion, thanked the Sindh Governor and Administrator Karachi for the respect and honour.
