Coke Studio – Pakistan’s most prestigious and successful TV Musical show – which is NOT ONLY highly acclaimed by Critics in Pakistan but through out the World, is now all set to kick start in India and other different countries very soon.
Reported by The Economic Times last month, the famous musical show can start soon in India where Coco Cola India is in talks with MTV India to discuss the details. Just for a quick information, the term “Coke Studio” was first originated in Brazil as “Coco Cola Studio” or “Coke Zero Studio”, where an advertising company did campaign for Coco Cola with association of NOKIA. (you can Download the Case Study of Coke Studio Zero) But the idea was way different and not what was actually applied and implemented later in Pakistan.
Coke Studio then started back in 2008 in Pakistan, under the supervision and vibrant leadership of Pakistan’s Premier Music Producer and Ex-member of Vital Signs – Rohail Hyatt. The show has had 3 successful seasons with hundreds of Local Musicians featured in it and each time it gained more viewership, following and acclaim than the previous season . The show’s popularity is depicted from its Official Fan Page where over 4.5 Lacs virtual fans are following the show.
As now the show is expanding and moving towards INDIA we are wondering how would they kick-start it , If they even manage to start there, but will they be able to find a Music Maestro like Rohail Hyatt. Seems difficult ? Isn’t it ? What do you guys say ? and then What would be the future of Pakistan’s Coke Studio ? How about Rohail Hyatt producing the Indian Version as well ? 😀
