Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Shafqat Amanat Ali Rocked Dubai in EID-e-Milan Concert

Dubai, September 29, 2009: Pakistani music sensations Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan rocked Dubai’s Palladium arena over the weekend, as they presented their choicest numbers that have won them fans from across the globe.

Performing at the sell-out “Eid-e-Milan” musical evening, presented by Cyclops Communication, the two artists jetted down to Dubai on Friday for their one-night only performance to play their favorite numbers in front of more than 1,500 music lovers. The classy, high-profile event saw a spectacular, power-packed show attended by top Pakistani diplomats, corporate groups and their fans from across the GCC. Speaking about the event, Anita Shah, CEO and Managing Director of Cyclops Communication, said: “The Eid-e-Milan evening was a celebration of some of the finest musical experiences from the Indian Subcontinent and I am pleased to see that our audience really enjoyed seeing two of the biggest musical stalwarts in action. Fusing a rich tradition of home-grown musical training, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shafqat Amanat Ali separately performed their captivating yet original styles. The six-hour programme saw them creating a potpourri of their Bollywood and pop hits and had the audiences screaming for more with their heart-tugging numbers. Throughout the evening, they exuded warmth and excitement, inviting the audiences to perform with them.

Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan performed first, presenting his soulful melodies first and then bringing his act to a crescendo with several foot-tapping numbers, including Mitwa (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna), Yeh Hausla (Dor), Aankhon Ke Saagar, Ankhiyaan and O Laal Meri.

To the thumping sounds of the background tables, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan then took music lovers to a different extreme as he performed his Sufi qawwali numbers along with his highly popular Bollywood chartbusters, including Teri Ore (Singh Is King), Tujhe Dekh Dekh Sona (Kalyug), Main Jahan Rahoon (Namaste London), among others.

The “Eid-e-Milan” concert was presented by Cyclops Communication, one of the leading entertainment events organizers in the UAE. The event was sponsored by Western Union, Panasonic, Continental Coffee, CMS Printing, Minal Medical Clinic and Layia Hospitality.
