We all know that Vidya “Ooh la la” Balan gained 12 kg for her role as the bomaard Silk Smitha. Considering the fact that Vidya’s performance took her career sky high because it was that much excellent, one must wonder whether Pakistani none other than the bold Veena Malik will out do Vidya’s portrayal in the remake of The Dirty Picture.
A Kannada version of the film is under the works starring Veena Malik as Silk Smitha. The remake has no connections with the original film as it will have a different origin. Veena Malik has claimed that she, like Vidya Balan, has put on 5 kg for her role. The Queen of Controversies has stated to IANS, “I had to put on five kg for the role because the script demanded so. Size zero does not exist here in South. I was 48kg, now I am 53kg. Forty per cent of the shooting has been completed.”
Due to the shooting of ‘Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga’ in Bangalore, Veena Malik has been continuously compared with Rakhi Sawant but the bold model-turned-actress is not allowing judgments let her down. When asked about the recent judgments, Malik said, “No, it does not bother me because whenever any new thing comes, people tend to judge it or tag it. I am sure with time things will change. I am new here, so I am being judged. I don’t mind that because it is human nature.”
