Cricket is undoubtedly the most loved, celebrated and played sport in Pakistan. The fans will be delighted to know that a film based on former captain of the Pakistani cricket team, Shahid Afridi is in the works. The fans were already excited about Faisal Aman Khan’s biographical film about cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan titled ‘Kaptaan’ but this one will definitely take the cake.
Managed by director, producer and actor Humayun Saeed, the film would be titled “Main Hoon Shahid Afridi”. ‘Boom Boom’ – a title inspired from the nickname attributed to the cricket superstar for his brutal batting style Not much is revealed about the plot of the movie other than that it will showcase many of Shahid Afridi’s struggles, wins and defeats.
Unlike ‘Kaptaan’, the film will have Shahid Afridi starring in it alongside Humayun Saeed, Javed Sheikh, Noman Habib, Aisha Khan etc. Until now, the film is just a concept and is yet to turn into a reality. Humayun Saeed is not certain about the film’s endeavors yet but desires to start its production next year. The 32-year old all-rounder is certainly a national hero and may his debut in Lollywood achieve as much success as his cricket career.
