With the 66th year of Independence for both the nations, India and Pakistan, Raeth – the Pakistani band wishes to redefine and dignify ‘the peace’ in a real sense.
During the promotions of their second album in 2010, Pakistani band – Raeth was in Mumbai and an incident inspired them to compose a song that can truly encourage people to think about ‘peace’.
Sunny Ghansham, the bass guitarist mentions, “We were hanging out at a cafe in Mumbai. We made few friends there & got introduced, hanged out for a bit. Generally, they asked me where am I from and I said Pakistan. In Seconds those people disappeared. At that time we realised we can change this thing through music. As soon as we checked in to a hotel, we sat down and composed this song on guitar.”
The band believes in ‘The Power Of Music’ to influence change. ‘’People out there need inspiration of music to help fulfil the dream of seeing Indo-Pak friendship. But a song is learned by heart and repeated over and over so we believe this would really help to spread peace not only between India & Pakistan but will also cater to World Peace.’’ adds Sunny
Raeth’s ‘Jaane Doh’ is a project intended to encourage people to think about peace, talk about peace. The songs of the album will promote peace, cultural acceptance and understanding for those who work towards peace throughout the world.
