Pakistani test cricketer, pace-bowler Shoaib Akhtar is someone who has been one of the most controversial personalities of the Pakistani cricket team. He is again in a new set of controversy for his past actions, allegedly with Meera.
During an interview to local media, Meera said that she was romantically involved with Shoaib Akhtar for almost a year and was serious about their relationship. But she did not receive the same response as she was expecting from him. Almost two years ago, he was part of her life and she was willing to take the next step with him of settling down, but he made a mistake of proposing to her on the same day that he proposed her cousin, allegedly.
Now, Shoaib has been known to act silly, but can he make a dumb error of proposing two women who know each other and are relatives on the same day!
Meera said:
“It was an intense affair and I wasted one precious year of my life waiting for him. I was committed and sincere to him. But he didn’t appreciate me. It happened two years back. I was sincere to him. But I ended the affair when on the same day he proposed to me and my cousin. It was a joke for me.”
The truth of the matter depends on the answer to the question as to who is a bigger publicity seeker. Most certainly, Meera would win again in creating a controversy. When Shoaib Akhtar was asked about her allegations, he straight-forwardly denied everything. He is currently working as an expert on a channel for the on-going Pakistan-England series. He said:
“I don’t know what she is talking about. I never had any affair with Meera. The problem is that if a well-known cricketer even smiles at a girl, she thinks he is in love with her. I had no relationship with her at all.”
But breaking her heart is not the only accusation Meera has to make against Shoaib Akhtar. She claimed that he slapped her in front of a television crew, but she never mentioned the incident to protect his reputation. What happened to guarding his image now? Meera further said:
“I was also offered Rs5 crores twice to appear on Bigg Boss with Shoaib. But I refused and so did he. I can’t be in a house with B-grade people.”
It seems like Meera lacks an original story of making a controversy as another ‘Controversy Queen’ Veena Malik was also romantically linked with a Pakistani fast-pacer Mohammad Asif, but there was nothing to that story as well. The truth is obvious it seems.
