Left a huge impression in the Bollywood comedy scene by playing the enthusiastic journalist Ali Hassan in ‘Tere Bin Laden’ and now it looks like that Ali Zafar is set to take his act to a whole new level as he is set to take the lead in the upcoming comedic film’ Chashme Buddoor’, the remake of the 1981 film of the same name. The film is to be directed by none other than Bollywood’s King of Comedy, David Dhawan and Ali Zafar is to become co-star of Taapsee Pannu, Divyendu Sharma, Rishi Kapoor and Anupam Kher.
On being offered the role, Zafar admits that watching the original film was a must to develop the comical taste. The original starred Farooq Shaikh and was directed by Sai Paranjpye; who has also written the screenplay of the remake. Ironically, both Paranjpye and Dhawan found many similarities between Sheikh and Zafar and found him as the perfect lead for the film.
The film also gives the Pakistani star to show his dancing skills as it has been reported that the film is to start with a dancing number. According to his tweet, “I had a wonderful time shooting for the movie and specially the songs in true Bollywood style.” Following ‘Tere Bin Laden’ and ‘London Paris New York’, this is the third Bollywood film for the young singer-turned-actor. The film is to be released on the 31st of August, 2012.
