Pakistani Sufi/Folk Singer Abida Perveen has been on his India Tour these days where recently she also visited Indian’s one of the leading news publication office, Hindustan Times. In a media interview Abida Perveen was asked about her favorite bollywood actor and she excitedly quipped, “I like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan,”
She further explained that she doesn’t watch movies in cinema but enjoy them on television and adore Indian soaps as well. Upon asking her which was the last movie she watched, the legendary singer said, “Salman Khan ki Dabangg bahut zabardast film thi,”
But the mentioning of Jagjit Singh brought a turning point to this conversation. On hearing this she said, “I was at the Delhi airport when I heard the news of his demise. Not just in India, people everywhere were deeply upset with this news. We’ve lost a creditable name and this place can’t be taken by anyone. His ghazals always conveyed a message which touched the hearts of listeners.
Her fan following is so huge and devoted and consists of fans from around the World. For this she told, “A lady once told me that she was severely unwell, but listening to my cassette gave her the strength to come for my concert,”.
