After winning hearts of his fans here in Pakistan as well as across the border with his first song for Coke Studio Season 8, ‘Rockstar’ Ali Zafar is coming back in Episode 4 with his version of the Saleem Raza hit classic ‘Aye Dil Kisi Ki Yaad Mein’ along with the very talented Sarah Haider.
Just as ‘Rockstar’ made waves everywhere from TV to radio to social media, this recreation of ‘Aye Dil..’ also promises to be an unforgettable tune. The promos show Ali clad in a chic Ismail Farid tuxedo and fully engrossed in the song depicting a broken heart. Being hurt by something really bad, Ali penned down the lyrics few hours before the recording and has put his heart and soul into this emotional song that will echo in the track releasing on Saturday.
Doing full justice to the original, Ali promises this one to be as big a hit, if not bigger, as ‘Rockstar and a treat for his loyal fans.
Originally sung by star singer Salim Raza, ‘Aye Dil’ was featured in the 1963 film ‘Ek Tera Sahara’, starring Shamim Ara, Darpan and Rani. It was composed by the magnanimous Master Inayat Hussain and lyrics were penned by the legendary Qateel Shifai.
