Award ceremonies are something very “rare” to happen in Pakistani media. There had been prestigious award ceremonies; Lux Style Awards, PTV Awards to mention a few but all these have lost their elegance, beauty and popularity over time; mostly due to mere negligence of producers and marketing agencies. Lux Style Awards are being conduced regularly from 2002 till now but over time Lux Style Awards is loosing its appeal too, we don’t see much of entertainment in these shows which are now rather full of glamour.
This year, television audience is going to witness first awards on their tv screens by “HUM NETOWRK”. The sole motive of Hum Awards is to give tribute to our artists who are with us for eight years and especially to hearten and motivate those projects that were on aired from January 2012 to December 2012.

Karachi, February 12, 2013: HUM announced here today at a select gathering of journalists that the Network was launching its own awards to acknowledge and pay tribute to all the various people that have supported the HUM Network these past eight years, and last year in particular.
The press briefing held at the HUM Network building was conducted by GM Public Relations and Publications, Shanaz Ramzi. She shared that the 1st HUM Awards would be a grand event to be held on March 9, and would cover the period between January 2012 and December 2012. In all, there are 32 categories, including fashion, music, television and special.
Out of the 32 categories , seven categories are of Viewers’ Choice. These are:
Television
- Best Drama Serial
- Best Actor- Male
- Best Actor- Female
- Best on Screen Couple
Fashion
- Best model- Male
- Best Model- Female
Music
- Best Solo artist
Voting for viewers’ choice will be done through IVR, SMS & on Website from 20th February – 5th March 2013
