Not many films of the Pakistani directors from the film industry get the chance to be sappreciated outside the homeland. One of the lucky ones is none other than Shehzad Rafique, who has one stupendous reputation as few of his films were fantastic enough to be focused in many international film festivals. Films such as ‘Mohabbatan Sachiyaan’ and ‘Rukhsati’ are few of his films which got the honor to reach the film festivals.
With such a bold career and recognition, his upcoming film ‘Ishq Khuda’ is definitely worth waiting and best of all: director Shehzad Rafique has confirmed that the his latest project will be released on this year’s Eid-ul-Azha. Regarding the dedication towards the film, Rafique states, “I have always tried to make sure that Pakistani films should have a market outside the country. My films have been released abroad in the past as well — so hopefully we are looking to release ‘Ishq Khuda’ in Canada, Dubai and other markets.”
The film is expected to be unique in the sense that it adds Sufism in a love story – something not many of the directors of romantic films aim to do. Regarding the difference betwwen his previous and current project, Rafique says, “Compared to my other films, I think what stands out [in Ishq Khuda] is the fact that there has never been a film done on Sufism here.”
