Strings Band becomes the very first Pakistani Band to acquire a VEVO account on YouTube.
Vevo (stylized as VEVO) is a music video website, management and distribution company. Its a joint venture among the biggest record label companies of the World namely Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and Abu Dhabi Media. Earlier Warner Music Group was also hosting its content on VEVO but due to some conflicts it left the joint venture.
Most of the videos by Strings Band have been transferred to their new account StringsVEVO where now VEVO will take care, manage and distribute the band’s music online & worldwide. Currently, the account StringsVEVO has 8 videos in it with its original quality, upload date and comments intact.
It is worth mentioning here that Vevo’s Official website vevo.com is currently available only in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. When Visitors from other Countries try to open the site, they are greeted with the following message:

VEVO is working hard to make sure all of our videos are available worldwide. In the meantime, watch and enjoy your favorite videos through VEVO on YouTube.
On the other hand, Most of Vevo’s videos on YouTube are viewable by users in other countries, while others will produce the message “This video contains content from Vevo, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds”.
Currently, StringsVevo has a total of 8 videos and all are watch-able by viewers in Pakistan except the 3 music videos; Dhaani, Humsafar and Koi Aanay Wala Hai. All the 3 mentioned music videos are restricted to Pakistani audience for don’t know what reasons.
Vevo hasn’t really given any benefit to Strings yet, but the game would start when Strings Band’s next commercial music video will be released via their Vevo account. Vevo will then come into action and distribute and syndicate the music video to its huge network.
Vevo currently manages the YouTube accounts of all singing stars like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Linkin Park etc. Its the very first time that a Pakistani Band has made it to Vevo. We hope and wish other Pakistani Bands and Artists also make it to Vevo and take their music to a whole new level.
Update: A couple of fans on our facebook page have reported that Strings have that VEVO account since long. We would like to inform and confess that this post resulted due to the “tip” sent to us quite recently by multiple sources. The author of this post, who has been covering local music industry since long, wasn’t even aware of this development. Upon inquiring it has come into our attention, that Strings still manages its own account “StringsOnline” and “StringsVEVO” is actually a result of the band’s deal with “Sony BMG Music Entertainment (India) Pvt. Ltd”
