Veteran Pakistani Actress Tamanna Begum Passed Away

One of the most well-known veteran actresses of Lollywood, Tamanna Begum passed away on Monday in Karachi. She was suffering from kidney complication and passed away in a private hospital according to a report by Aaj TV. Her funeral prayer was offered in North Nazimabad area of Karachi at Rehmania Mosque after Zohar prayers.

She had worked on films as well as on television, but her media career started from Radio Pakistan in 1960s and she later did theatre plays before joining films. She was at the peak of her career in 1970s and 1980s. She won Pakistan’s film industry’s most prestigious award, the Nigar award for Best Supporting Actress in 1977 for her role in Bharosa.

She had the opportunity of acting alongside leading actors of her day, but her career declined with the lower qualities of films that were later began to be made. It was then that she joined acting on television dramas.
