[Lahore: 4th August 2012] One of Pakistan’s leading personalities, Fawad Khan, launched SILK – a premium casual and semi-formal ready to wear clothing brand, in collaboration with his wife and SILK designer, Sadaf Khan. The brand launch marked the start of a two day exhibition in Lahore on the 04th and 5th of August at the PFDC in Mall One.
As the name suggests, the brands’ designs are based solely in the purest of silks, with an endeavor to capture elegance and simplicity with its aesthetic. Indeed the very ethos of SILK rests on Fawad Khan’s vision for the modern woman whom he believes deserves luxury in fashion. Speaking about SILK, Fawad Khan said: “Having acted, modeled and been a musician, I am happy to initiate new entrepreneurial venture. SILK was born when Sadaf and I decided to collaborate to make our vision, for women to dress in simple clean-cut styles in crisp fabric, a proper venture. With our brand, we have made a humble attempt to branch away from the lawn focus and instead pioneer a new focus on premium fabric promising exemplary quality in design and stitching.”
SILK by Fawad Khan’s debut collection featured a fusion of Eastern and Western styles designed around the concepts of colour and print blocking. A bright colour palette, complementary to current international colour trends was engaged to highlight the fabrics rich shine and softness. This debut collection also featured diverse silhouettes ranging from the more sleek and simplified cuts to the more voluminous.
Sadaf Fawad Khan, the design force behind the brand said: “For our debut collection, while most designs are based simply on their colour and print appeal, we have also designed some with a more semi-formal flavour adorned with traditional and modern embellishments in celebration of the upcoming Eid festivities. We hope this collection serves as a positive teaser for our brand which we will be launching nationwide, soon”
SILK by Fawad Khan is now available at a two day exhibition on the 4th and 5th of August 2012, from 11am-11pm at the PFDC in Mall One, Lahore.
