Karachi [PR] HUM organized a musical programme , ‘Yeh Raat Bheegi Bheegi’, an evening full of romantic songs featuring both veteran and up-coming singers including Fareeha Parvez, Sara Raza, Nabeel Shaukat, Kamran Saggu, Ameer Ali and Afshan Fawad, here yesterday. The programme was well-attended by music aficionados who stayed well after the programme had ended, sending in their requests to their favourite singers.
The programme started with a surprise for everyone as they saw Fareeha Parvez for the first time in the role of a host as well. She introduced the first singer of the evening, Kamran Saggu, who immediately set the tone of the evening by rendering ever-popular numbers like ‘Khoya khoya chand’ and ‘Abhi na jao chor kar’ which he sang as a duet with Sara Raza. Sara then crooned two solo numbers ‘Thandi hawaiin’ and ‘Bawari chakori’. Up next was a duet with Nabeel, ‘Dekha aik khawab toh yeh silsilay huae’ followed by solo numbers by Nabeel , ‘Choo kar meray man ko’ and ‘Chala jata hoon kisi ki dhun mein’.
Next to mesmerize the audience was Fareeha Parvez with her renditions of ‘Bahon mein chalay aao’ and ‘Main tere sang kaise chalon sajna’. Kamran Saggu and Sara Reza came up next to sing ‘Teray meray sapnay ab aik rang hain’, ‘Tum joh mil gaey ho to yeh lagta hai’ and ‘Teri bindiya ray’. Sara then crooned a solo number, ‘Tu nay o rangeelay kaisa jadu kya’ and was followed by Ameer Ali and Afshan Jawad who sang two duets, ‘Yeh raat bheegi bheegi’ and ‘Do sitaron ka zameen par hai milan’.
Ameer Ali then sang a solo number ‘Mein nay poocha chand say’, followed by Fareeha and Nabeel Shaukat who sang ‘Kora kaghaz tha yeh man mera’. Nabeel came up to have the audience humming to his songs ‘Pyar diwana hota hai’and ‘Yeh jiwani hai diwani’. On popular demand he also sang ‘Dor say tootay patang jesay’ before giving the stage to Afshan Fawad who crooned ‘Yeh kahan aa gaey hum’. Ameer Ali then came in to sing ‘Yeh chand sa roshan chehra’.
To close the evening Fareeha Parvez crooned ‘Yeh hai reshmi zulfon ka’ and ‘Jaiyea aap kahan jain gay’. However as the audience kept inundating her with requests she obliged by singing a few more numbers including Faiz Sahib’s ‘Mujh say pehli si mohabbat’ and finally ending with ‘Patangbaaz’, bbringing the event to a lively close.
