Karachi, October 21, 2012 – PR – Glitz, glamour and fashion is back in the City of Lights as the 4th Fashion Pakistan Week opened at a local hotel here on Sunday. Pakistan’s most credible, progressive and cutting-edge fashion week will present the latest men wear and women wear collections of Pakistani top designers and leading male and female models until Tuesday.
Maimoona H’s collection “Last Night” was a western take on eastern off-the-rack wear. The luxury pret line played around with white, greys and earthy tones. Ayesha Hasan’s collection had silhouettes that were “simple yet complicated”. Designs were edgy yet commercially viable. The night opened with Sonya Battla’s modern and sleek line. The pret wear presented was “extremely wearable” and the color palette was dark- very appropriate for the fall season. DnF men’s wear collection was fun and refreshing. Bright colored pants combined with sleek and sexy shirts impressed the audience.
Zahid Khan’s Kuki Concepts made a mark and continued the tradition of impressing the audience. Their FPW3 collection was very well received. This time around, the bright color palette stood out as well. Nargis Hafeez’s collection was traditional whereas Ishtiaq Afzal Khan’s signature collection “Desert Rose” was inspired by the desert with modern silhouettes and brown and pink color play.
Wardha Saleem’s finale of the night was well-planned and well-executed. Inspired by our folk toys –the paper birds and the ghulayl, “Folk Play” was colorful, modern and bold. Audience received it very well. Nomi Ansari and Tapu Javeri also walked the ramp for Wardha’s collection.
The event continues until Tuesday night. Sanam Chaudhri, Arsalan Yahseer, Debenhams, Bani D, Zaheer Abbas, Aamir Baig, Nine West and Adnan Pardesi are presenting their collections on the ramp tomorrow night.
