With amazing consistency, rock star and music impresario Farhan Saeed has helped to resurrect the art of music videos in Pakistan, ostensibly revving up the nation’s music industry in his wake. Since 2011’s Khuwahishon, Farhan has steadily churned out high-quality music videos of his hit singles including Pi Jaun (2012) Halka Halka Suroor (2013) and Roiyaan (2014), each video casting popularly glamorous actresses and models including Indian actress and dancer Isha Sharwani (Pi Jaun); Amna Ilyas (Halka Halka Suroor) and Sabeeka Imam (Roiyaan) respectively . Now Farhan raises the ante even further with the soon-to-be-released music video for his single Koi Raukey Na Mujhey directed by Humza Yousuf which features reclusive superstar Iman Ali, veteran actor Sajid Hasan; menswear fashion designer Munib Nawaz and of course Farhan himself.
Koi Raukey Na Mujhey also marks a musical departure for Farhan where he experiments with an electronic Dubstep format in the large-scale music video production. Expectations for Koi Raukey Na Mujhey loom large: Roiyaan directed by Yasir M Jaswal won the Song of the Year at the Lux Style Awards (LSA) in 2015, while Pi Jaun shot in New Delhi and directed by Kenneth Dawson featured stunning underwater shots taken by Sumair Verma and Halka Halka Suroor also directed by Humza Yousuf featured dramatic ethnic fashion and slow stop motion photography and was a tribute to the late great Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan; all a lot to live up to.
But we are confident that Farhan, ever the perfectionist will not only live up to, but easily surpass all of our expectations. More details about the storyline, theme and wardrobe for Koi Raukey Na Mujhey will follow shortly when the video is released mid-March
