Definitely Imran Khan is a personality who people try to be in real life; but in a movie? That is a first. Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming project ‘Heroine’ is on the minds of every single one of the bubbly Bebo fans but the hottest word surrounding the film just might grab the attention of the highly crazed Pakistani cricket fans and those of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

Word on the Bollywood streets is that Randeep Hooda’s cricketer character is strongly based on that of Imran Khan’s. Actor Arunoday Singh was initially chosen for the role but after seeing the former’s performance in ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster’, Bhandarkar went for Randeep.

A particular media source states, “Randeep has been depicted as a charming cricketer who has an affair with an actress, essayed by Kareena. The character is based on Imran Khan although it is not stated that he is Pakistan cricket team’s captain. The character is flamboyant something that Imran Khan was known for off the field.”

On a related note, Randeep took lessons from Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag in order to make his character realistic. ‘Heroine’ is to be released on September 21, 2012 and only time can tell how will be Randeep’s performance as the winner of 1992 Cricket World Cup, Imran Khan.
