Pakistani Musicians Denied Indian Visa for Cocktail Music Launch

Arif Lohar and Javed Bashir denied Indian Visa The music album of the upcoming Bollywood film Cocktail – starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty – has received a tremendous feedback and what better to have the music launch with the talented Pakistani musicians who contributed their passionate voice for the album. Unfortunately, that is not going to take place as it just so happened that they were denied visa; thus making it impossible for them to go India for the launching ceremony.

The Pakistani musicians who contributed their voice for the soundtrack of Cocktail – a film by Saif Ali Khan’s very own production company, Illuminati Films – included Punjabi folk music legend Arif Lohar and ex-lead vocalist of Mekaal Hassan Band, Javed Bashir. Due to their unavailability, producers Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan decided to cancel the music launch in Mumbai and move it to London so both the country’s artists can perform.

Sources related to producer Vijan have stated that, “The producer thought it is very unfair to these Pakistani singers, if they weren’t given their due in front of Indian media. So they decided to entirely do away with the music launch. Reports suggest that the makers of the film are now planning to hold the music launch in London where both Indian and Pakistani singers who feature in the soundtrack will be performing.” The upcoming film’s music is composed by Pritam and will be released on 13 July 2012.
