Think about the legendary Singer Alamgir, and the next thing that comes to your mind is concern about his health. Alamgir, who is now 57, has been undergoing regular dialysis for the past few years. However, the artist inside him is still very much alive and it doesn’t let him rest.
At the ending Day 3 of Bridal Couture Week 2012, the audience witnessed a classic performance of legendary Pop singer, Alamgir. Alamgir entertained so many people at the event with his power packed performance and epic dance moves. The way he danced on the track “Maine Tumhari Ghaagar Se” was not just surprising but also something that took many people back into the past memories.
Alamgir wearing a hot black sherwani danced a couple of bhangra steps. He was dancing as if no one is seeing him. He was so involved in his song and enjoying every bit of his stay on the stage. Seeing him performing and dancing LIVE, that too with such energy and passion was really once-in-a-life-time-opportunity. The performance was simply historical. The same Alamgir who was losing his health day by day, was now singing and dancing in front of you with such excitement.
It is worth mentioning here that Doctors had advised Alamgir not to sing songs anymore, as it needs much energy. So may be therefore, he didn’t sing LIVE but Lip Sync on the song. Almost half an year ago, Alamgir said in an interview “Music is life to me, its takes me away from reality and calms me down, I still play music and sing and very soon you will be able to see me back with new songs,”.
He hasn’t yet come up with new songs, except the remake of his song Keh Dena. But he has definitely make a comeback into the industry with this live stage performance. Another best thing about the performance was “the audience” that didn’t leave behind. As Alamgir moved onto finishing the song, the crowd started clapping along with Alamgir and soon the appreciation turned into a standing ovation for him. This was where I got the goosebumps too!
We are such a great nation, blessed with greatest stars and we respect our artists with the core of our hearts!
Long Live Alamgir! you are someone who has entertained my father and his father and I would definitely introduce you to my next and his next generation. God Bless You!
