In an interview with Express Tribune, Shahzad ‘Shahi’ Hasan – a former member of the now defunct Vital Signs band – expressed his feelings on the current musical scenario of Pakistan and a possibility on the re-union of their infamous band.
“Musicians are 90% all hype and no talent” Shahi makes a strong statement, before adding, “Music has a lot of farce. Adding salt to the wounds, the Indian entertainment industry is eating up our pop music.”
Bitter truth? That’s right!
Shahi pretty much nailed it right there because now a days we don’t really get to listen to the eternal music – a genre of music that touches the soul and lasts for a period of lifetime. But what we get now is only commercial music; no artist ever tries to put up a ‘worthy’ effort. And that’s not over yet; our neighbor country has also got into a bad habit of picking up our beloved artists, which only deteriorates our music industry.
On the other hand, Shahi’s band Vital Signs was a force to be reckoned with in the past, always providing timeless music to the world. When asked about a possibility of making a comeback with Vital Signs, “We [Vital Signs] will come together for the cause of music,” Shahi says calmly.
“Our music will bring us together.” – Shahzad ‘Shahi’ Hassan.
