The most popular track of Coke Studio Season3 – Jugni by Arif Lohar and Meesha Shafi – has now been featured in Syed Noor’s new punjabi movie ‘Jugni Nachdi Ae’ as ‘Dam Gutkoon’.
This recent development has just come into our attention after we randomly reached a Youtube video. As per the video title , Arif Lohar along with Nooran Lal has sung this different version track ‘Dam Gutkoon’ for an upcoming punjabi movie ‘Jugni Nachdi Ae’ directed by Syed Noor. The movie cast includes all old champs: Shaan, Saima and Moammar Rana. Whereas Arif Lohar can also be watched dancing with Saima on his own track.
For our readers who have no idea about the song: In Coke Studio Season3, Arif Lohar and Meesha Shafi made a fusion song out of Alif Allah and Jugni, soon after the track released, it hit all the music charts and broke all the download records thus became an instant hit over night. Arif Lohar who had been disappeared from the music scene, jumped back into the showbiz limelight again just because of an Improved Coke Studio Version of Jugni. Kudos to the music producers at Coke Studio who transformed his track brilliantly and made it a popular choice among the masses again.
As ‘Dum Gutkoon’ (more popularly known as Jugni) is already famous among masses, it will now be used in a local Punjabi Film, which seems to be NOT PROMISING at all. The song recorded at ‘PAPA studios’ also doesn’t do the justice with the quality we experienced in Coke Studio.
