Ladies! Step aside! This is men’s turn now. The Pakistani fashion industry has earned quite a name for itself and with the first ever Men’s Fashion Week (MFW) just around the corner; one can only guess what is in stored for the very fate of the industry. During the press conference at Karachi’s Dolmen City Mall, the event representatives concluded that it is indeed the time for the men to display their skills in order to revolutionize their industry.
“it’s time we understand that a vast clientele of Pakistani fashion is men who really want to dress up!” says the enthusiastic Munib Nawaz – the creative director and spokesperson of the upcoming MFW. He further added that men’s clothing is the fastest growing industry in the country. Nawaz guarantees that more flavor and spice will be added to the grand event as it is set to focus on a vast number of clothing articles beyond kurtas and sherwanis. Regarding the organizer’s search for men’s accessory designers, he stated that, “Sadly, in our land, producers of men’s wear and designers both have compartmentalized themselves. Dono nay dhai inch ki masjid bana li hai.”
MFW is going to be full of surprises as it is confirmed that stylist Khawar Riaz and choreographer Zurain Imam are going to be a proud part of the event. Regarding the hype, Style360’s Shanaz Ramzi stated that, “For fashion weeks, men are usually seated in the front row for obvious reasons. The game should change a bit. For MFW, I hope the audience will have a lot of women watching to find prospective grooms and husbands.” Whatever the case maybe and with all the hype, lets see what MFW has in stored for Pakistan’s fashion industry. This is scheduled to take place at the end of August.
