Indian Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his daughter Pooja Bhatt have arrived in Karachi to play a theatre at International Theater Festival, organized by NAPA Repertory Theatre Play. They are set to play ‘Daddy’, which is based on Bhatt’s 1989 film of the same name. Reportedly, Mahesh and Pooja Bhatt are accompanying their cast and two other theatre groups from India.
“Mahesh Bhatt presents “Daddy” – A theatrical adaptation of Mahesh Bhatt’s classic film ‘Daddy’ on 30th, 31st March and 1st April at 08:00PM in #ITF15,” the organizers posted on their official Facebook page.
Earlier, Mahesh Bhatt had thanked Pakistan government for giving clearance to visa to all Indian groups to travel to Karachi for the International Theatre Festival, Indian news channel, Zee News has reported.
“All is well that ends well. It is a happy ending for us as the Pakistan Embassy has given a NOC to all the Indian plays which were to travel to Karachi for the theatre festival. I thank them from the bottom of my heart,” Mahesh told Press Trust of India (PTI).
The festival is being organised by NAPA Repertory Theatre Play. Besides “Daddy”, the other two Indian plays that are supposed to be staged at the festival are “Kasomal Sapno” and “Tum Kaun”, which is an Indo-Pak collaboration.
