He is one of the most influential and well regarded actors in the Indian cinema; truly a living legend for not only his industry but for his country as well. The man is none other than Naseeruddin Shah, who recently starred in Milan Luthria’s biographical erotic film ‘the Dirty Picture’ as the lovable villain, Sutyakant. Having spent almost his entire life in India, the actor decided to visit Pakistan and he is not alone as he brought his family too.
It was Wednesday when Naseeruddin Shah step foot in the country which is filled with people that has contributed a lot in his fan following. Making his entry in Lahore, he was greeted with a usual heavy amount of interviewers and media personnel – just another tiny price a celebrity has to pay when they arrive in a new state. When outside of the Allama Iqbal International Airport, he questioned to the media, “Why would I come to Pakistan if I had no Aman ki Asha [desire for peace]?” Now that was truly a heart-touching dialogue from a man who portrays as villains on the big screen.
Naseeruddin Shah did not gave much time to the hungry media but before leaving, he revealed that he would be staying in the country for the purposes concerning few events which are to be held on the 1st and 2nd of December. Unfortunately, the legend did not comment on the type of the events as he wished to keep it personal. May his visit to the country be a welcoming one.
