Karachi, July 11, 2012: HUM TV won five awards in Lux Style Awards 2012 in the satellite plays categories last night, proving its place as the numero uno channel among the entertainment channels of Pakistan.
Quratulain Baloch’s sound track for HUM TV’s super hit TV serial Humsafar was the clear winner of the evening, winning two awards the same night in the ‘Best original sound track’ and ‘Best song of the year’ categories.
Sarman Khoosat bagged the award for Best TV Director (all channels) for HUM TV’s serial ‘Pani Jaisa Pyar’. He was competing against Adnan Ahmed for ‘Mera Naseeb’ (also a HUM TV play), Babar Javed for ‘Mera Saaen’, Kanwal Khoosat for ‘Aao Kahani Buntay Hain’ and Yasir Nawaz for ‘Uraan’.
11th Lux Style Awards declared Savera Nadeem the Best TV Actress (satellite) for her work in ‘Qaid-e-Tanhai’. She was pitted against Aamina Sheikh for ‘Umm-e-Kulsoom’, Beenish Chouhan for ‘Mera Saaen’, Hina Dilpazir for ‘Tum Ho Ke Chup’ and Saba Qamar for ‘Paani Jaisa Pyaar (also a HUM TV play)’.
Samira Fazal won the award for Best Drama Writer (all channels) for ‘Mera Naseeb’, a HUM TV serial. Sumaira also had a nomination for ‘Mera Saeen’. Other nominees were Umair Ahmed for ‘Qaid-e-Tanhai’ (also a HUM TV play) and ‘Uraan’ and Anwar Sajjad for ‘Dil Behkay Ga’.
The 11th Lux Style Awards were held at the Expo Centre in Karachi and was attended by celebrities, socialites and the best in the field of music, movies, television and fashion. The award ceremony was hosted by Ahmed Ali Butt and Humaima Malik.
